With the summer holidays coming to a close and the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final London coming up, Swim-1st held their first Junior Triathlon training taster course last week.
The beautiful grounds of Handcross Park School in Sussex was the setting for thetraining where 25 budding future triathletes from the surrounding towns, and from as far afield as Brighton and Arundel, enjoyed the taste of the UK’s fastest growing sport. Triathlon is made up of three disciplines; swim, bike and run. The sessions included training for all three disciplines as well as sports nutrition, transition training and fitness games, culminating in their very own triathlon on the last day.
Lee Basset, founder of Swim-1st said “I am really pleased with the amazing feedback from parents and juniors regarding the training we delivered. Some promising future triathletes took part. We are now in the process of setting up a regular junior triathlon club training every week to compliment our adult section of the Swim-1st Tri Club. This will also be an excellent opportunity for our Swim-1st Academy swimmers to progress into.”
Swim-1st will start their weekly junior triathlon club at the end of September using the facilities at Handcross Park School - which include an indoor 20m swimming pool, stunning grounds and floodlit courts. The training will take place on Monday evenings. If you are interested in the junior club please email your interest to junior@swim-1sttriclub.com
